The WORST Family Home Evening Ever

Okay so this might be one of the saddest post possible. A tragic event happened to our family on Monday morning, our little bear died.(he was a Chorkie) It was a Monday morning no diffrent then any others, I was getting Beckham breakfast and Bear needed to go out, so I let him out. We don't have a fence, but he is really good to stay around. We have known that he goes in the road, but I guess I have been naive thinking that it wasn't a problem, and he would be okay. Well after about 5-10 minutes I didnt hear a scratch at the door, so I went out to find him. I was yelling his name and he usaly comes running. Well this time he did not come running. I thought that maybe he went to our neighbors, it was a second home to him. I text my neighbor to see if he was there and then went back out to find him, that is when I found out why he was not coming. He had been hit by a car in front of our neighbors house, it is kinda a busy road. Bear died instantly, at least by what I saw he did. I am glad that he did not suffer, or have any pain at all. I ran back inside to call Josh. I was so numb, he said he would come home to take care of him, but I told him no it was okay he needed to stay at work. Josh called our neighbor and friend Joe to go take care of Bear, there was no way I could. Joe put him in his garage until we figured out what we were going do to.
I was crying off and on all day and Isabella asked what was wrong, I said nothing of course. She said "you miss dad huh". I wanted to wait to tell the kids what had happened when Josh got home and we could do it together. So Josh arrived at home and we sat the kids down to tell them. I can honestly say that is the second hardest thing I have ever had to tell anyone. My poor kids, Bella took it much harder then I expected, Hunter took it like I thought he would. It was instant tears. We kinda told them what happened. Explained that Bear was in Heaven. Bella had a hard time understanding if he was in heaven why were is "Bones" still here. So anyway we told them we could bury him if they wanted to. They did of course Josh went and got his truck and went to get bear from our neighbors house. Josh drove by him self we did not want the kids in the same car with Bear we did not want to freak them out. (oh no worries Bear was in a box, no one saw him but me when I found him) We buried Bear in Josh's parents backyard under some trees. We said a prayer and buried him with some of his things. Hunter was so cute on the way up to Josh's parents he said with a brave voice "I am going to help dip the whole for Bear with dad" another cute thing Hunter said was "what are we going to do for Family Home Evening tonight" I said that was it we did it. He said that sure was a sad family home evening.
We will miss our "Bay Bay" He was two years old. He was such a good dog. He tolerated the kids he listened so good. He was a great snuggle. The kids just loved him. Our family is still grieving. We are sad to loose him.

Oh honey, I am soooo sorry. Let me know if there is anything that we can do. Death is such a hard thing for a child to grasp, our neighbors dog got ran over the other day. Bryton didnt even really know them or the dog, but was still sad. We love you guys.
